Course Description
This course is designed to produce trained, proficient welders. Students will receive training and related instruction in:
Shield Metal Arc Welding (Stick)
Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG)
Gas Arc Welding (MIG)
Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
Oxy-Acetylene Gas Welding (OAW)
Cutting resistance Spot Welding
Theory and Practical Application
Safety Techniques
Care of Equipment
Student MUST supply the following safety items:
- Clear Safety Glasses
- Long-sleeved Cotton Shirt OR Welding Jacket OR Welding Leathers
- Leather Welding Gloves
Welding hoods and basic hand tools are provided for classroom use. Students may; however, purchase their own personal items. The following will be provided for the student in class:
- Welding Hood (Shade 10 Lens)
- Welding Cap
- Tape Measure
- Cutting Glasses (Shade 5 Lens)
- Flint Striker
- Torch Tip Cleaners
- 12" Combination Square
- Chipping Hammer
- Wire Brush
- Wire Cutters
- Adjustable Pliers
- Ball Peen Hammer (16oz.)
- 12" Adjustable Crescent Wrench
- Soap Stone (with Holder)
- Steel-Toed or Safety-Toed Lather Boots
